Graduation and completion of Graduate-training programs are truly moments of celebration. But what happens next? This half-day workshop is divided into two parts: from 12:00-2:00 pm we will host speakers from a variety of locations (hospitals, private practice settings, community mental-health clinics, academics) to speak about their paths to finding work and to talk about options available to graduates in Western Pennsylvania or surrounding areas. We aim to gather psychologists who may be able to offer or support post-doc work in order to facilitate networking for those seeking placement opportunities. Between 2:00-5:00 pm, the workshop will move to a more individually-tailored format: attendees can speak individually with potential employers, have professionals review their resumes or CV’s, participate in mock-interviews or ask about employment skills, and have frank conversations about money and financial issues related to professional practice. This location is near several bus stops.
